"I don't need a cloak to become invisible."
Got some mega updates for you. You're going to like these ^^. First off, while Ollivander's may be closed, business is booming at Madam Malkins. A shipment of 9 new cloak models have just come in! They include Quidditch jersies for each house, Hogwarts generic black traveling cloak, Beaxubatons and Durmstrang cloaks, Lucius Malfoy's stylish snake-clasp cloak, and-... now wait a second... I know I had that Invisibility Cloak a second ago...

    Horcrux Cup Updates
Shalini has generously switched to the only sensible house: Slytherin! Unfortunately, we're still dawdling in third place, and that's only because Hufflepuff lost 10 house points to a death eater attack. Come on House of Serpent Tongue! Step up your game!
For now Ravenclaw is still in the lead with 3,000 house points. Asmodeus, Jason, Loulou and Meghan are leading for their respective houses.

    Sad Day
For those of you who stalk the sidebar, you probably noticed that I didn't introduce the new deck in my last news post. That's because I had 3 other decks I wanted to complete first ;)

By now I'm sure most of you know that the great Albus Dumbledore is dead. He was murdered by... *sniffle*. I can't even handle it, I'm sorry guys. It's just too awful. crying
    *Deep Breath*
Draco Malfoy snuck a team of death eaters into Hogwarts. They cornered headmaster Dumbledore. And our own Severus Snape delivered the killing curse. In Dumbledore's absence the death eaters are reveling around the site. Have your wands at the ready for a duel. Ollivander's has again been ransacked, and the shopkeeper is missing, so you won't be able to purchase or exchange wands for awhile. Fawkes too has been missing since Dumbledore died, so you won't be able to pet him for freebies. Wonder where they both could be?
There is hope! Rumor has it that Dumbledore's Army is still meeting to prepare for the war ahead...

In honor of his absence, we celebrate the late, great, Albus Percival Wulfric Bryan Dumbledore with these four new decks. Take ONE from each:
  • Please
  • Flight
  • Loyal
  • True Friends

    Finally Cleared the Inbox!
Seemed like every time I answered 30 forms another 30 appeared. But finally the Inbox is cleared out, and I feel comfortable giving you a full update.

    Horcrux Cup Stats:
  • Ravenclaw is winning by a landslide with 2,820 house points. *Sews dissent in the ranks*. At this point the tournament is so one-sided that I'm worried Students will stop playing because there's no competition. I would encourage any Ravenclaws who were thinking about switching houses to do so. I also advise Ravenclaws to consider that while they are currently a shoe-in for Winning House, only one Champion can win the Horcrux Cup for Ravenclaw. You are all up against each other. Think about it.
  • Asmodeus, Elin, Emma, Emma H, Jason, Lisa, Lissi, Loulou, Malheur, Meghan, Rainey and Shalini have all successfully completed the first task at this time. Well done, Students! Dumbledore would have been proud.

    Affiliates:

  • Level Ups:
  • Lissi to Second Year
  • Kat to Third Year
  • Emma H leveled up to Fifth Year
  • Asmodeus to Sixth Year
  • Jason to Quidditch Captain
  • Loulou to Seventh Year
  • SamD to Head Girl
  • Emma to Dumbledore's Army

    Masteries:
  • Elin mastered Botany, Summons, Tennant and Twin Cores. Now collecting Platform.
  • Emma H mastered Metamorphosis. Now collecting Bunnies.
  • Jason first mastered Judgment and Thai Hermione, and regular mastered Botany, Characters, Ferret, Lovely, Lovers, Morsmordre, Ravenclaw, Spells, Wright, Full Moon, Poesy and Nightmare. Now collecting The Veil.
  • Loulou first mastered First Glimpse, Fireworks, Stud and Sacrifice. Now collecting Platform.
  • Malheur mastered Petrified. Now collecting Brilliant.
  • Meghan mastered Trio and Brilliant. Now collecting Cunning.
  • Rainey first mastered Tournament and regular mastered Reunited and W.W.W. Now collecting Champions.
  • SamD mastered Felton. Now collecting Dungeon.

    Horcruxes or Hallows?
Let the Horcrux Cup commence! When we last left our intrepid heroes we were horcrux hunting. We found all but the locket horcrux, which had been replaced by a mysterious R.A.B. And you noticed that Draco Malfoy had been acting shifty. Maybe you should go talk to Dumbledore about that. Now where's his office again?...

Like always, I've hidden some easter eggs in plain sight B). Emma found one, which I believe some of you in the Tagger noticed. That's how she made 10 house points earlier today. Lisa and Emma H I will reward you ASAP as well ;).

Speaking of things in plain sight, I think you've all noticed the new layout by now! As well as the updated Sidebar freebies. I've been so busy coding the tournament that I had no time to make a Quibbler post. I also missed the 4th of July because I was out watching fireworks! AND Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe and J.K. Rowling have celebrated their birthdays! So here are some overdue freebies:

  • OR

  • 1 card of choice featuring Harry Potter or Daniel Radcliffe, and 3 cards of choice beginning with J, K and R.

I will update again soon with the recent masters, level ups, affiliates and the like. And I will make a regular Games update for those not interested in the tournament.

    IT HAS BEGUN!!!!
Well sign-ups have begun anyway. The new round of the Horcrux Cup Tournament starts on Harry's birthday! If you already know you want to be a part of the tournament you can sign up now. House points for level ups, masteries, and all the rest don't count until the start of the tournament, but you'll at least get an inside peek at what's to come.

This round's theme is Deathly Hallows Part 1, and it runs until Christmas (when Harry and Hermione went to Godric's Hollow). Immediately after Christmas another tournament will start - Deathly Hallows Part 2 - and it will end with the release of the last movie in July. These two tournaments will exclude for the most part Harry's hunt for the horcruxes, which we covered last tournament. Instead they'll focus more on the other trials Harry had to face, including avoiding Snatchers, breaking into the Ministry, escaping Malfoy Manor, and of course the Battle for Hogwarts. Along the way you'll learn about the legend of the Deathly Hallows, and how they may help you to defeat Voldemort. Keep your eyes open for appearances of the Sign of the Hallows around the site, they may be clues as to where you should explore.

If you're unsure what the Sign of the Hallows looks like, or you want to sign up for the tournament, go visit Hermione's Beaded Bag in the Games section.

PS- Oh by the way, Fred and George have some new and controversial items for sale at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Extendable Ears and Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder are available for cheap. Better snag them now, who knows how long they'll last...
